About

Ever since my early twenties I wanted to be a crone: a wise elder who lives alone at the edge of the forest and is visited by townsfolk in search of a potion, a spell or a smart way to solve a gnarly riddle.

A few decades later I’m just about old enough to apply for the position, although my hut is in the suburbs and I share it with my spouse and a little tuxedo cat named Artemis.

Life, as you know, is a mix of joys, sorrows and longings. It’s taken some time but I’m glad to say that at this point, I am mostly able to hold the range of my human experience within a larger space of understanding and connection to magic, spirit, and the more-than-human realms. I am an omen watcher, a bone collector, a lover of synchronicities. I need a lot of open, quiet time to listen.

I’m queer and my pronouns are they/she. I’ve been a Buddhist since 1996 and I was ordained in 2019 when I was given the name Khasanti. It means they/she who find(s) peace in the open sky.

Astrological Training & Practice

I am a graduate of the Nightlight Astrology School where I completed both the Year 1 and Year 2 certification programs in ancient astrology, taught by Adam Elenbaas. The curriculum is extremely thorough and includes deep contemplation on the spiritual and philosophical dimensions of astrology. I can honestly say it’s been life changing.

My practice is rooted in Hellenistic astrology though I do incorporate some modern elements, such as outer planets. I use whole-sign houses and traditional rulerships.

What to Expect from your Consultation

I consider an astrology consultation to be like a meeting with the oracle. The combination of a client with earnest questions, my astrological craft knowledge & intuition, and a level of trust and open communication between us creates a space in which the oracle can enter and speak. It doesn’t mean the conversations aren’t sometimes irreverent or even hilarious, because I don’t believe spiritual and/or magical practice must be a very somber affair, but you should be aware that encounters with the sacred, mysterious and beautiful are an occupational hazard of astrology practice.

My sessions are person centered and I have absolute respect for the autonomy and agency of my clients. I offer illumination and context which hopefully provide you greater insight from which to make your own choices, but I will never tell you what to do. I prefer consults to be as collaborative as possible – after all, you are the expert in your life. I love seeing repeat clients because the more we meet, the more you get to experience being deeply witnessed in the unfolding archetypal themes of your life by someone who sees you and knows you on that level – almost like a regular visit to the witch in the hut at the edge of the forest.
